Dann gibt es den Moment, wo es *klick* macht und der Ausgelassene Einzug nicht mehr die unbeliebteste Webtechnik ist, sondern wunderschön und erstaunlich einfach.
Wenn man dann noch neues Seidengarn ausprobieren soll, dann wird schnell ein Muster geschrieben, aufgekettet und los geht es. Das Grundmuster kennt eigentlich jeder. Es ist ein broschiertes Band aus dem wikingerzeitlichem Gräberfeld von Birka, das 1993 von Carolyn Priest-Dorman in ein Schnurbindungsmuster übersetzt wurde.
Basierend auf den Bildern vom Original habe ich ein Muster für Ausgelassenen Einzug mit vielen Zwischenmustern geschrieben, die teilweise historischen Ursprung haben, teilweise meiner Phantasie entsprungen sind. Und weil es so gut funktionierte, habe ich dann auch noch einige Punkte broschiert.
There are moments when everything fits and the missing hole technique is not longer an unpopular technik instead it is beautiful and surprisingly simple.
If you have to test new silk yarn than you write a pattern, thread the tablets and start weaving. I think everyone knows the ground pattern. It's from a brocaded band found in viking time graveyard from Birka. In 1993 Carolyn Priest-Dorman translated it to a threaded in pattern.
But there is not only the motiv from Birka. The motives in the squares are inspired by quite a lot historic and not historic motives. As it was easy weaving I added a little bit brocading.
Für das Band habe ich insgesamt 30 Brettchen verwendet, davon 24 Musterbrettchen. Als Material kam Seide zum Einsatz. Die fertige Borte ist etwa 1,5 cm breit.
For this band, I used a total of 30 tablets, including 24 pattern tablets. I used silk as the material. The finished band is approximately 1.5 cm wide.
