Very little information is available about this band. The online catalogue of the Victoria and Albert Museum dates the piece with the inventory-no 8655-1863 between 1400 and 1599 and describes it as being of European origin. It is a tablet-woven band made with red, white, blue, and brown threads.

Apart from these details, the online catalogue contains only an image of the band. There is no information about the materials used, the exact weaving technique, or the archaeological context.

At first, I suspected that the pattern was woven using the six-hole technique. However, when I made a test piece and compared it with the image in the online catalogue, it became clear that this was not the case. Instead, it is a very simple 4V4B pattern.

As there is no information about the material used or the original dimensions of the band, I used 20/2 wool for my reconstruction. The reconstructed band is 0.9 cm wide.
