Die einfachen Bänder aus Gaigovo I
Es gibt sie wirklich: die ganz einfachen Bänder. So gibt es aus den Gräberfeldern um Ladoga mehrere Funde. In dem Brandgab im Hügel 1 von Gaigovo I wurden einige ganz einfach gewebte Borten gefunden.
Das Grab enthielt drei Garnituren, die wahrscheinlich einer einzigen Frau gehörten; vieles war verbrannt, doch einige Textilfragmente und Schmuck haben die Zeit überdauert.
They really exist: the historic bands woven in a simple way. They are from the burial grounds around Ladoga. One of them is in the cremation burial from the barrow 1 of Gaigovo 1.
There are big differences to bands we call nowdays simple. Here the tablets in the pattern are threaded with only two threads. Opposed to quite a lot of other finds the threading and warping of all tablets is identiciall. This leads to a twist in the finished bands. You can reduce it if you change S and Z of the border tablets but you can't prevent it.
Der große Unterschied zu den heutigen einfachen Borten ist, dass die Brettchen im Musterteil nur mit zwei Fäden pro Brettchen bezogen worden sind. Im Gegensatz zu vielen anderen historischen Borten ist die Anfangsstellung aller Brettchen identisch, obwohl dies dazu führt, dass die fertige Borte in sich gedreht ist. Man kann es ein wenig reduzieren, indem man die Randbrettchen in die andere Richtung schärt, aber verhindern kann man es nicht.
Das Band ist ca. 1 Zentimeter breit. Material 20/2 Wolle von Marled mit Krapp und Indigo gefärbt.

Mit genau dem Aufzug kann man auch ein komplexeres Band weben, das ein wenig an Doubleface erinnert.
With this threading you can weave a little bit more complex band which reminds on the doubleface technique.
Dieses ganz schlichte Band ist auch mit zwei Fäden pro Brettchen im Musterteil gewebt worden. Es gibt auch einen Fund mit umgekehrter Farbverwendung.
This simple band is also woven with 2 threads in the center of the band. There also exists a find of opposite colours.
