Ladoga Objekt Nr 6
Ein weiteres brettchengewebtes Band aus dem Gräberfeld Ladoga / Russland

 

Aisling-Ladoga06-VorschauDas Objekt Nr. 6 ist zweiteilig. Zum einem besteht es aus einem schmalen brettchengewebten Band und zum anderen aus einem Stück Stoff, auf das das Band angenäht wurde.
Es ist genau wie die anderen Textilfunde in das 10. - 12. Jhd. datiert.
Leider ist der Fundbericht auf Russisch und mein Übersetzungsprogramm hat mich im Stich gelassen, so dass ich mich auf das verlassen habe, was ich selbst interpretieren kann: das Bild von der Borte.
 
The object no 6 is made up of two parts: the small tablet woven band and a piece of cloth sewn together. It is like the other textiles dated in the 10th to 12th century.

Sadly the find report is in Russian and the translation program was no help. So I fell back to the details I could interpret on my own: the picture of the band.

Ich habe mich dazu entschieden, das Band mit 11 Brettchen zu weben. Jeweils 4 Brettchen am Rand mit jeweils 4 roten Fäden und 3 Musterbrettchen mit nur 2 Fäden bezogen (rot und blau). Das Muster entsteht, indem man die Brettchen kontinuierlich in eine Richtung dreht. Dabei verwendete ich 8/2 Wolle, die mit Krapp und Indigo gefärbt wurde.

I decided to weave the band with 11 tablets. 4 tablets with 4 red threads on each border and the 3 pattern tablets with 2 threads per tablet (red and blue). The pattern comes into existence by turning all tablets in one direction. I used 8/2 wool deyed with madder and indigo.

Ein Jahr später hatte ich endlich einen englischsprachigen Artikel in der Hand - und wurde ein wenig überrascht. Denn auf den Tafeln 6 + 7 wurden keine unterschiedlichen Borten gezeigt, sondern es war ein und dieselbe Borte.

Das hat mich dazu gebracht, das Muster zu überarbeiten und neu zu weben. Mehr dazu in meinem Blog. 4 Randbrettchen und 3 Musterbrettchen, die mit zwei Fäden bezogen wurden blieb, allerdings ist das Band jetzt dreifarbig und es gibt mehr Richtungswechsel.

Das Ergebnis sieht so aus:

One year later I received a english report of the finds - and it surprised me. Then the plates 6 + 7 didn't show different bands but one and the same band.

I deceided to go over the pattern and weave it again. You will find more information in my blog. Still 11 tablets with 4 tablets on each side as border and 3 tablets with 2 threads per tablets, but now with 3 colours and I changed the turning direction quite a lot.
